Recent changes regarding use of the Dorbrook model
aircraft field |
Tuesday Flying
On Monday July 11, 2005 the Monmouth County Board of
Recreation Commissioners unanimously voted in favor of
the adoption of a new rule allowing the use of combustion
engines on Tuesdays at the Dorbrook flying field. Effective
immediately you may now fly your combustion engine equipped
aircraft as you would any other day of the week keeping in
mind that all other existing rules and regulations will now
apply to Tuesdays as well. That is, flying of combustion
aircraft will only be permitted after 10:00 am and must end
one hour before park closing.
Electric Flight
Also approved by the Recreation Commissioners is a new
rule allowing flight of electric aircraft starting at 8:00
am which is also subject to the same termination rule of
one hour before park closing. PLEASE NOTE-AS DISCUSSED AT
OUR JULY MEMBERSHIP MEETING, YOU ARE NOT
AUTHORIZED TO FLY ANY AIRCRAFT BEFORE 10:00 AM THAT HAS NOT
FIRST BEEN APPROVED BY TWO MEMBERS OF THE JCSF EXECUTIVE
COMMITTEE. This rule is a matter of protection to our club
and is required until further notice. Failure to obtain this
necessary approval for each aircraft prior to your pre 10:00
am flight will result in disciplinary action by the board.
You will find most of our executive members at the field
often or you may e-mail them via our
contact
page to make arrangements to have your aircraft
approved. In addition, any motor or propeller changes made
to your aircraft after approval must be re-authorized.
